Clinical Trials webinar by BOC Sciences for Webinar: Theranostic Lipid Nanoparticles for Cancer Medicine
Webinar: Theranostic Lipid Nanoparticles for Cancer Medicine
Prof. Gang Zheng's lab discovered porphysomes, liposome-like nanoparticles self-assembled from a single porphyrin-lipid building block, which enable the controlled photothermal/photoacoustic and photodynamic/fluorescence properties. Additionally, porphysomes inherently support MRI, PET, SPECT, radionuclide therapy and drug delivery. Since its discovery, the intrinsically theranostic porphysome has trod a path towards the clinic for the past ten years and is now entering its first-in-human use.Highlights of the presentation• Discovery of Porphysomes: Liposome-like nanoparticles self-assembled from a single porphyrin-lipid building block.• Versatile Properties: These porphysomes possess controlled photothermal/photoacoustic and photodynamic/fluorescence properties.• Multi-functional Support: Porphysomes inherently support MRI, PET, SPECT, radionuclide therapy and drug delivery.• Clinical Advancement: After 10 years of development, porphysomes are now in first-in-human trials.Speaker:Dr. Gang Zheng is a Professor and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Cancer Nanomedicine at the University of Toronto and the Associate Research Director of the Princess Margaret Cancer Center. He obtained his BSc in 1988 from Hangzhou University and PhD in 1999 from SUNY Buffalo. Following a postdoctoral training in photodynamic therapy at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, he joined the University of Pennsylvania in 2001 as an Assistant Professor of Radiology and moved to Canada in 2006. His lab is best known for introducing the activatable photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy and the porphysome nanotechnology for cancer theranostics. Dr. Zheng is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Pharmaceutical webinar by CIRSE for Liquid embolic agents: All you need to know
Liquid embolic agents: All you need to know
Over the last years, there has been a growing development and use of liquid embolic agents in IR, enabling the treatment of more complex diseases such as vascular trauma and bleeding, arteriovenous malformations, aneurysms, meningiomas, and subdural hematomas – conditions that otherwise could not be effectively treated with other embolic devices. Despite their increasing prevalence, these agents remain underused or unavailable in some hospitals, limiting treatment options for complex diseases. Liquid embolic agents represent an advancement over traditional mechanical embolic materials, making it crucial for interventional radiologists to be proficient in their use within clinical practice. The webinar will highlight key embolic agents such as sclerosants, Gelfoam, glue, and polymers, delving into their physical properties, indications, technical considerations, efficacy, and the latest innovations.Learning objectives:• To understand the differences between different types of liquid embolic agents and their specific uses.• To learn about the main liquid embolic devices currently in use and their composition.• To understand the clinical applications of liquid embolic devices during elective procedures.• To learn how to use embolic devices during emergency procedures.Programme:Introduction by the moderator - Alessandro Cannavale (Rome/IT)Clinical assessment of patients undergoing embolization procedures - Andreas Mahnken (Marburg/DE)Overview of currently available and upcoming embolic agents - Enrique Esteban Hernandez (Valencia/ES)Sclerosant agents and challenging cases - Lakshmi Ratnam (London/UK)Glue and LIPIODOL and challenging cases - Alberto Alonso-Burgos (Madrid/ES)Polymers and challenging cases - Romaric Loffroy (Dijon/FR)Discussion and Q&ATake home points by the moderator - Carolina Lanza (Milan/IT)FacultyModerators:• Alessandro Cannavale (Rome/IT)• Carolina Lanza (Milan/IT)Speakers:• Alberto Alonso-Burgos (Madrid/ES)• Enrique Esteban Hernandez (Valencia/ES)• Romaric Loffroy (Dijon/FR)• Andreas Mahnken (Marburg/DE)• Lakshmi Ratnam (London/GB)

Wellness webinar by Justia Connect for What’s on Your Well-Being Menu?
What’s on Your Well-Being Menu?
What’s on Your Well-Being Menu?Over the past 10 years, conversations about health and well-being in the legal profession have become increasingly common, often focusing on the disproportionately high rates of depression, anxiety, substance use, and suicide across the lifespan of those serving in the legal profession — law students, lawyers, and judicial officers. New research is released on a regular basis showing that each cohort is continuing to suffer, often in silence. Those are the facts, but they aren’t the whole story. The reality is that we all have a role in how the story unfolds. In fact, The Path to Lawyer Well-Being: Practical Recommendations for Positive Change, published in 2017 by the National Task Force for Lawyer Well-Being (now the Institute for Well-Being in Law), created an outline for us to fill in. The report identified six dimensions of well-being and steps that individuals and organizations can take to promote and support well-being across those dimensions. We’ve added a seventh dimension — environmental — to the model we use at Thought Kitchen. This session will begin with an overview of the research about lawyer, law student, and judicial officer well-being, and the dimensions of well-being as set forth in The Path to Lawyer Well-Being. Then, there will be facilitated discussion about each dimension of well-being, including the following inquiries:What does each dimension of well-being look like for you? What gets in the way? What does support look like?Participants will leave with an increased ability to:Acknowledge the serious challenges to the well-being of lawyers, law students, and judicial officers and recognize the impact those challenges have on professional conductIdentify the dimensions of well-being and specific practices to support each dimensionConsider the ways in which each of us can impact the culture of the legal profession to support and promote well-beingTopics covered include:Attorney WellnessLaw PracticeLegal EthicsAgenda:Overview of Research and the Dimensions of Well-BeingResearch on lawyer and judicial officer well-beingDefining well-beingIntroduction to the seven dimensions of well-beingFacilitated Discussion of Each of the Dimensions of Well-BeingEmotionalSocialPhysicalEnvironmentalSpiritualIntellectualOccupationalBuilding your well-being menuWhat does each dimension of well-being look like for you? What gets in the way? What does support look like?Questions & Answers (as time permits)Duration of this webinar:60 minutesWhen:Premieres in 9 days | June 04, 2025 9:00 AM PTSpeakers:Jill Carnell - Chief Contemplative Officer, Thought Kitchen, LLCLoretta Oleksy - Mindful Life and Work Coach, Thought Kitchen, LLC
